Crone is excited to be one of the eight architecture firms leading the Male Champions of Change initiative, which seeks to achieve a significant and sustained increase of women in leadership in architecture.

As part of the Australian Institute of Architects’ commitment to gender diversity, Crone’s Erica Teicher-Gertel and Project Team Leader Eva Ponsati explained the importance of the Champions of Change initiative in a recent video:

Women have graduated from architecture degrees in equal numbers as men since the 1970s, but this hasn’t translated into equal leadership & participation throughout the profession.

At Crone, we want to lead the industry into the future. We ensure women are given the support they need to equally participate at all levels. We commit to structural change and combating systemic biases.  We build flexibility into our work culture. Participating in the Champions of Change program has helped provide a framework to continue implementing change within our office — change that we want to impact our whole industry and beyond.
