Ground floor slabs are complete and structural steel is being erected to the 2000m² competition winning community centre scheme for the City of Canada Bay.
With the steel structure almost complete to the first building the facetted form is taking shape and the relationship between the four buildings can be experienced on site. It is at this stage where ideas begin to come alive.
The complex structure uses both steel and concrete columns to maximise the areas of glazing to the façade and allow for large cantilevers to the roof.
The new community precinct will comprise a restaurant, e-resource centre, function centre and community meeting rooms, set across a landscaped waterfront site. The Connection will provide much needed facilities and a centre for civic life.
Crone have been working closely with Kane Constructions to enable them to achieve an accelerated construction programme, due to be completed by July 2016.
